Course Description

This Workplace Accident Investigation course will provide the information you need to effectively analyze an accident and uncover its underlying and root causes.

We’ll start with statistics that show the extent and the main causes of death and injury in the US workplace.

You will learn about Heinrich’s theory of industrial accident prevention and how to classify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and their associated hazards.

We will show you the correct way to record and report hazards and accidents, and how, and when to send reports to OSHA.

The main four stages of an OSHA official accident investigation are described in detail:

  1. Preserving and documenting the scene of the accident.
  2. Collecting information.
  3. Determining underlying and root causes.
